Galter clears his throat at the mention of a delivery, and addresses Bram quietly, eyes darting to Kasen as he speaks, "You speak of a delivery Altanian?  Does this mean you and your companions are continuing beyond Kauran, to the City State perhaps?"   He looks to Talhur to see if the fence has taken offense at his speaking to a guest and starts figuring out who would be the best to hide behind if the cat decides he looks like a meal.

Corin raises an eyebrow and shoots Worset a wiithering glare before addressing his host, "Aye the name is Corin Tahl'Veras as my companion says.  Tell me, is there an elven garden in this city where I may find a place to seek refuge and retreat while my companions relax?  I need to sit and find requiem after being on that ship for so long."
Corin plucks a few grapes out of one of the bowls on the table. "Nice cat"

Corin pops a few grapes into his mouth then ponders for a moment "Are there any Dunael in town as well?"

Bram eyes Galter warily and says, "Perhaps. Do you have business there?" He also nudges Corin gently with his elbow and whispers, "Ask him if he knows where you might find a bow!"

"No. I mean, yeeees. There is a grove maintained by the druidess Lais and you may often find the leader of the elven community, who's only half an elf, HAH, there pouting about long bygone theengs. His name is... what's his name my darling"

"Osari, my lord"
purrs the comely Amazon.

"Yes, Osareeee. If anyone knows where to find a bow that can whup your ass, it would be heeee. He made me mine... OK, he didn't make it for meee, he doesn't like mee much. He made it for someone else and I take it. See? Ways around everything!"

"No Dunael, although sometimes they come and chat with tree people some."

A smile appears on Galter's face as Corin mentions a boat, he raises a hand to rub his chin quickly.  "I may find myself adrift after concluding business with Talhur.  You and your companions appear to have traveled quickly by boat, your wounds are still healing, and from Corin's general demeanor I would say your lives have been full to the brim with the type of excitement born of fighting tooth and nail to stay alive.  This life is not unknown to me and as for business in the City State, I have a family that no doubt thinks me dead.  If you would have have another sword to help your message, whatever it may be, reach the City State, I would offer mine until our paths might divide.  That is, unless Talhur has news for me to the contrary."   He pauses to catch his breath, then says, "Also, I grow tired of all the cold Skandik women along the Coast."

Bram chuckles politely along with his host, being sure to stop chuckling when his host stops laughing. "If you find your time here in Kauran is at an end and you find yourself bound for the City State, then perhaps we should explore our...mutual...interests."

Talhur tosses what appears to be a human hand to the cat, who begins gnawing on it with relish.

"That reminds me, my dearest, I found out who spilled wine on your furs. The matter has been taken care of."

She kisses him and begins to rub more oil on him.

He looks at Kasen and scowls.

"So who is brooding soldier-man? He look like city guardsman. I don't like city guardsman. I don't discuss busineess in front of theese soldier-man unless he tell me who he eees."

Galter covers a cough at the fence's "joke", and nods to the other guests of Talhur.  "As you wish."  He turns to Talhur, "And what of it Talhur?  Will the Captain find that you paid a fair price for his...uh...goods?"  He maintains a careful smile on his face but anyone watching closely can see he is troubled discussing such matters in front of strangers.  As Talhur speaks to Kasen, Galter eyes the soldier warily.

Judge - Corin would like to go to the elven glade in town.

Corin bows to his host, "I appreciate your hospitality good sir, I must quit this meeting and make my way to said retreat"

Corin nods to his companions and departs (after obviously getting directions in some manner).

"Then by all means leave... quitter!"

He sits down and stares daggers until Corin leaves.

"I don't like elves. Too uptight. Now, back to surly soldier-man. Do you need help loosening your tongue, or are you also a quitter?"

Kauran City Streets

Corin leaves the Silver Eel and the calculating stare of the Ghinoran crimelord like a rat fleeing a ship. As he walks uphill he begins to see greenery above the tops of buildings and he enters an area of town populated with a large park and beyond, a formal Druid's grove. There is a freshness to the air here and Corin notices elves for the first time in what seems like ages.

Then he hears music to his ears; the sound of arrows thumping home in targets and a light smattering of applause.

Corin rounds a bend into a copse of elm trees and finds three elves and a half-elf with longbows firing at a target about a hundred feet away.

As he happens upon them, the half-elf looks up "Greetings, friend. May we help you?"

Corin relaxes visibly and enacts the formal greeting of the Dunael Woods then says.  "Greetings and Salutations, I am Corin Tahl'Veras and I seek refuge for a short period of time here.  Might I enter the grove and enter requiem?"

Corin's eyes then fall to the bows the elves are using. "Ah, those are rather nice bows.  My companions and I were beset by ork raiders and our gear plundered. Which is why I currently resemble a vagabond.  Could I also trouble you good sirs as to where I may find a bowyer and armsmith that is competent in fashioning elven weapons and armor?"
