Guidelines for the Dice Roller

To use the roller:
:dice [number of rolls]d[number of sides][+ or -][modifier]:
eg to roll 3d6
dice 3d6
Would give you this:
Rolling 3d6:
(6+4+3): Total = 13
eg to roll 3d6+1
dice 3d6+1
would give you this:
Rolling 3d6+1:
(4+2+3)+1: Total = 10
If you want to roll a single die then you must enter the number of rolls as 1, you can't leave it blank.
eg dice 1d6 not dice d6
The roller sets the max rolls at 40 and max number of sides at 100 to stop stupid rolls!
Also note! The above examples have the open and close colons removed to keep the info intact...when formatting your dice rolls they must be enclosed within colons ":"
That is all

Using this roller you can easily generate the base stats for your character.
To use:
:stats [number of rolls]d[number of sides][+/-][modifier],[drop lowest? y/n],[number of stats to roll]:
Remember to put the leading and trailing ":"
If there is none you may omit the modifier but you must always include the command to drop the lowest roll or not (y/n) and the amount of stats to roll.
Here are some examples...
1. This is the D&D method of rolling stats. 4d6 will be rolled 6 times and the lowest roll each time will be dropped.
stats 4d6,y,6
Stats rolled 6 times using 4d6 and dropping the lowest roll
5,5,1,6:
16
6,2,3,5:
14
3,5,1,3:
11
6,5,3,2:
14
5,1,6,4:
15
3,5,1,6:
14
2. This rolls the same as 1. but will also add 1 to the total roll.
stats 4d6+1,y,6
Stats rolled 6 times using 4d6+1 and dropping the lowest roll
6,1,5,3: 14 + 1 =
15
2,4,1,1: 7 + 1 =
8
2,1,6,2: 10 + 1 =
11
2,3,6,4: 13 + 1 =
14
1,1,6,1: 8 + 1 =
9
6,3,2,4: 13 + 1 =
14
3. If you don't want the lowest to be dropped then change the 'y' to a 'n'.
stats 4d6,n,6
Stats rolled 6 times using 4d6
4,2,2,6:
14
6,2,6,6:
20
3,5,3,4:
15
2,3,4,4:
13
4,4,6,5:
19
6,6,3,6:
21

The final instructions...to da any rolls other than the ones first posted here you must use the little red dice at the top of the reply box, enter your criteria, and then click generate.
the resulting code can be copied and pasted into your post and the rest is automatic!
Example code from roll generator:
rollgen 8d6,0,6,0,11,0,2,1 (colons have been eliminated in order to show you the original code)
would get this:
Rolling 8d6, exploding any results at or above 6:
2, 5, 4, 1,
(6+6+6+2)
20, 4, 3, 3 =
There were
1
successes when rolling each die against a target of 11.
If a post is edited it becomes this:
<img src="/dice.gif" alt="" />Rolling 8d6, exploding any results at or above 6:<div style="background-color: #919191;"><font size="1">(6+6+2)</font>14, 4, 2, 2, 3, 2, <font size="1">(6+3)</font>9, 4 = </div><font size="1">There were 1 successes when rolling each die against a target of 11.</font>
